Conversion from NCTS to DVA

NCTS to DVA

As we all know, the transition from NCTS to DVA is coming up quickly, and we will all switch to the new system on October 29. This is as exciting for you as it is for us, so let’s hope for a smooth transition!

On October 29, all declarants will switch from NCTS to DVA, which means that changes will be necessary in the process for each declarant, and we will all have to make an extra effort on that day.

What will change in DVA?
The messages we use to communicate with customs will change, and there will be more alignment with UCC guidelines. This means it will resemble DMS more closely, introducing an additional layer in the declaration process in DVA.

It is already possible in DVA to send unloading remarks before the unloading is actually completed. This can also speed up the logistics process.

There are also some adjustments to the content of the declaration, such as additional offices that can be entered. We will provide more details about this in the manual or in a later mailing.

What is the status at Softpak?
The software is ready for use (version 24.01 or higher), and we have been testing it for a while. So far, these tests have gone smoothly, and we are always receiving return messages from customs.

The manuals are now on the drawing board for final review, so they will be available on time. If you would like to receive them earlier, we can provide them by email. The manual will also be integrated into the software.

We are currently busy providing all our customers who are currently using NCTS with an update to version 24.01 or higher. If this has not yet happened for you, we will get back to you soon and ensure that you are switched over in time.

In the week before October 29, we will send out a mailing with a manual on what to do to start working directly in DVA on the 29th. For each organization, something will need to be done once in our application (by one user, not every user). We will explain step-by-step what to do and provide assistance if needed.
